Men's Irish Tweed & Wool Hats

Woven tweed and felted wool are both used across this range, so a wool cap here might be a structured Donegal tweed flat cap or a softer, felted walking hat. Both fabrics are naturally water resistant, and colors run through greens, browns and seasonal tones inspired by the Irish landscape, across our men's Irish tweed and wool hats.

Tweed and Felted Wool, Side by Side

Wool tweed is woven and holds a structured shape, which suits styles such as flat caps and panel caps, while felted wool hats have a softer, rounder profile better suited to a wide brim walking hat. Both fabrics are naturally water resistant, so either option will hold up reasonably well against a shower.

Colors shift with the seasons, with warmer tones for summer, muted pastels in spring, and rust and orange shades that suit autumn particularly well, a range built into every wool cap we offer. Across the year, most designs stay close to the greens and browns found in the Irish countryside, whatever the specific shade.

Some felt styles are finished with a leather band and a small pin detail for a more tailored look, well suited to wearing with an overcoat or a suit. For a lighter option in warmer weather, our linen caps offer a similar shape in a breathable fabric, while our wax caps trade some of the softness for full waterproof protection on wetter days, rounding out our men's Irish tweed and wool hats collection.
