Bringing Ireland's Natural Beauty To You

Posted by Weavers of Ireland on 11th Aug 2017

Here at Weavers of Ireland, our Master Weavers strive to harness the natural beauty we see around us every day.  Through their keen eye, our Weavers match the finest materials in an array of colours and textures and weave them into something that could fit right in with the world that inspired it.  Below, we will take you on a quick 5-stop tour along our gorgeous Wild Atlantic Way so you can see the inspiration in line with the creation we are offering you.

Our first stop is along the Pilgrim Path on the Sliabh Liag (Slieve League in English) Coast.  This amazing coastline on Donegal's coast is a spectacular sight to behold.  Whether you are taking in the views of the Atlantic Ocean from the cliffs, or you are retracing the steps of a century old Christian Pilgrimage, you will feel the spirit of this land.  Below is the Pilgram Path pictured with the Lambswool Plaid Throw in Green & Grey by John Hanly.

Our next stop is the rugged and beautiful Burren in County Claire.  Known also as the "fertile rock", the Burren is actually a fragile place despite its rugged appearance.  Seventy-five percent of Ireland's native plant and fern species can be found in the Burren.  Which is quite remarkable when you consider that the Burren makes up less than one percent of Ireland's landmass.  Below is a picture of the Burren with the Lambswool Scarf in Classic Pearl Grey Tartan by Foxford Woollen Mills.

Next up, the Dingle peninsula.  The views!  The food! The craic!  Dingle certainly has it all.  Driving through the winding open-air roads on the cliff sides is sure to take your breath away (maybe in more ways than one).  Dingle town, Slea Head and the Blasket Islands are just some of the many spots where Dingle will seduce you with her beauty.  Pictured below is a breathtaking shot of the Dingle countryside meeting the sea and Ladies Newsboy Hat in Blue & Green Plaid by Mucros Weavers.

Next we go to the majestic Lakes of Killarney nestled in the Kingdom of Kerry.  Resting at the foot of the highest mountain range in Ireland, these spectacular lakes are a vision of perfection.  Mountains, woods, lakes and waterfalls are abundant in these parts and the ever-changing Irish sky, makes all this so picturesque. Below is a picture of the Purple Mountain reflecting off one of the lakes and with that, the Multi-Vernal Plaid Poncho by Mucros Weavers.

The last stop on our journey takes us to the West of Cork and the beautiful fishing village of Kinsale.  A town that is steeped in history and tradition, its no wonder they have six heritage trails.  With its specked harbor and colorful architecture, Kinsale is as much of a state of mind as is an actual place- so the saying goes.  Seen below is a sunset shot of some boats in the harbor and the Fine Merino Plaid Scarf in Denim by John Hanly
