Eight Panel Newsboy Cap Design
The newsboy style developed from the flat cap in the late nineteenth century, taking its name from the New York boys who wore it while selling papers on the street. The rounder crown and eight panel construction set it apart from a flat cap, giving it a fuller, more structured shape.
Most of our newsboy caps are made from wool tweed or wool, chosen for softness and warmth as the weather turns. Color options include soft blues, greens and greys inspired by the Donegal countryside, warmer rust and harvest tones for autumn, and a lavender blend that echoes the purple hue of the Irish moors.
Our Women's Irish Newsboy Hats pair easily with a casual outfit and a matching wool scarf for cooler days, or add character to a more formal look when you want something beyond a plain hat. Alongside newsboy styles, our wider range includes flat caps, driving caps and panel caps for both men and women.
